I don't think I've ever read a satisfactory time travel story, and I'm tired of lame uses of the butterfly effect where the effect only changes things the author wants to change while leaving other things magically unchanged.

Also, is it a sign of a midlife crisis if this keeps going through my head?:
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find, ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to nought,
or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say

Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
When I come home cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the fields
The tolling of an iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells

Sunshinerain. Sun.

"Is that your shame, or are you just happy to see me?"

I see a photoshop filter, for $99, and think, I should just write my own filter. I think this every year or three, and some year may do so.

  1. Create a font.
  2. See glowing lava up close.
  3. Write at least one published book.
  4. Write an entire useful GUI application myself.
  5. Grow a fruit-bearing cherry tree from a cherry pit.
  6. Look through an observatory telescope at Saturn and a nebula and more.
  7. Visit Prague, Budapest, Brussels, Berlin; Indonesia, China, Japan, Ireland.
  8. Design and live in a house that will (or at least can) last at least a thousand years.
  9. Create a new style of music based on reexamination of what the true fundamentals of music are; new style should become popular and not just academic.
  10. And more.

Here's your task: find the next number in the series. There's no right or wrong answer, it's an Art project.

Yestermonth I bought the Whole Foods version of veggiechicken taquitos, thinking to compare them to the other version.

Yesterweek, I noticed that they were chickenchicken, not veggiechicken.

Yesterday, I ate them, and felt kind of funny after. Metadizzy.

Today, I feel kind of funny still after. Maybe just standard illness.

What's the opposite of yester? There must be one. Morrowday, morroweek, morrowmonth.

Legends of yore: the yesteryeti, hunting the morrowmammoth.

I also have an extra Tarika - Soul Makassar - who wants? How I can make so many yesterordermistakes? All musics digitalized now tho, so can easy check to see if I have something. 902 artist. 709 album. 9697 item. 51GB. 25 day 7 hour 6 minute 44 second. 15 full-time work weeks. Repeat 3.5 times per year. Kind of like some radio station, except they repeat 3.5 times per day. Some just gifty mp3 by other tho, in holding pen for review. I am the one who buys all legal musics.

I think of all the people over the last tens of thousands of years, hopping into boats, going out to ocean. Maybe some swept away by storms, maybe some crazy. Some of them eventually hit an island, and then the island has humans. There's a lot more water than island tho. Day 53. Eat the wood of the boat. Storm-swept should run out of drinkable water, so maybe all crazy, or driven. I think of the lost civilizations on the other side of the ice age.

My wish list needs to find itself having a book on details of mechanisms of evolution and differentiation and speciation, mimicry, strategies, adaptations, all abstracted into general memetic informational transformations; theory of interaction of complexities. Gekkos are quantum mechanics, running along the underbellies of the starships. Bed.

I always want to suprise surprise by spelling it wong.

Sun to make Solaris free. Half want to add machine to my desk, biogeekinate. I've always thought Linux to be a messy monster, and last time I looked (years ago) preferred FreeBSD. But in practice I just have Cygwin, which I don't use. And OSX, but moo. I lost interest in MacOS about the time that unix geeks gained interest.

Mostly I just sit around being depressed, tho, and thinking about all of the projects that I wanted to do a couple years ago. Three weeks left on the omega-3 experiment before I give up and switch to zoloft or NRE or music.

What do I love. I love the automatic peak level adjustment of EAC, so random shuffle doesn't result in random volume adjustments needed. What do I hate. I hate negative indirect communication. What do I love. I love my kitty which sits right over there, looking.

LJ polls take up far more room than they need to. If my lost volition ever returns, I'll contemplate offering a replacement system or alternative system.

My new auto insurance update: there is no coverage for loss due to Fungi, Radioactive Contamination, or Nuclear Explosions.

Just in case I happen to be away on business when my city is nuked, and I try to get a replacement for a car stolen by mutant radioactive mushroom people.

I met my thaumatafaerie goddaughter. (Which faerie god do you suppose it is? And other illogical tangents. You'd think it would be a human goddaughter of a fairy godfather; however, it is not.) She was not a mutant radioactive mushroom person. She did wonder what plant it was and so i took a leaf and baerie but the baerie dried up and the leaf proved insufficient and the plant person said I don't know probably a madrona.

Here's where I don't snipe at someone who really needs a sniping. Time will determine. Meanwhile years of lost experience disappear down the drain. Here's where I don't snipe again in a different way.

Which dreams should I give up on?
[ ] Music
[ ] Writing
[X] Painting
[ ] Teleportation
[ ] Living to 1000
[ ] Saving the Universe
[ ] Making an Comickxs Strip
[ ] Creating an Artificial Language
[ ] All of the ones i haven't started yet
