Creation myths are irrational.

What does the ancient peep see? Nothing but cycles. Sun cycles, moon cycles, season cycles, animal migration cycles, flooding cycles, star cycles, planet cycles, child becoming parent creating child which becomes parent, menstrual cycles, etc. "Who made us / the animals / the world" doesn't make any sense in that context - things just are, and always have been, and always will be.

"Who gave birth to our people" would make more sense, but then would prompt the question "when will our people die, and what people will we give birth to?"

"Making" is something one does with inanimate objects, fashioning them into other inanimate objects.

Prehistoripeeps must have thought tools were megacool and maybe alive. And or whatever.
