A terrible misunderstanding took place. ... Further down the street, Anwar abd al-Kerim, who was heavily pregnant and had somehow managed to escape injury in the car as bullets rained all around her, got out of the car, holding her wounded eight-year-old daughter Mervet, and sought help from her brother, who lived down the road.

She had to leave in the car her injured daughters, 16-year-old Ia and 13-year-old Haded, along with her husband, Adel, who was bleeding badly and groaning. Her 18-year-old son, Haider, was already dead. A bullet went between his eyes.

..."The doctors said they might have lived if they got there sooner: the main cause of death was bleeding. The Americans left them to bleed in the street for hours."

In Washington yesterday, Mr Bush declared in a radio address: "Life is returning to normal for the Iraqi people ... All Americans can be proud of what our military and provisional authorities have achieved in Iraq."

"We napalmed both those [bridge] approaches," said Colonel James Alles, commander of Marine Air Group 11. "Unfortunately there were people there ... you could see them in the [cockpit] video. They were Iraqi soldiers. It's no great way to die. The generals love napalm. It has a big psychological effect."

... A 1980 UN convention banned the use against civilian targets of napalm, a terrifying mixture of jet fuel and polystyrene that sticks to skin as it burns. The US, which did not sign the treaty, is one of the few countries that makes use of the weapon.

So now we have stolen US election with clear planned fraud, pre-planned invasion of Iraq, complete lies about WMDs that didn't exist, massive amounts of groupthink by a insular globule of people in DC, years of reconstruction complicated by years of guerilla warfare, hundreds of billions of dollars removed from our paychecks, overthrow of two countries, immediate advantage of 9/11 being taken to advance ideological agendas, no capture of saddam or bin laden, many times more deaths than happened on 9/11 to people who didn't contribute to 9/11, massive damage to NATO and the UN, transformation of the worldwide post-9/11 goodwill toward the US into worldwide opposition to everything the US is doing, encouragement to small nations to develop nuclear weapons, somewhat more secure oil entirely in the hands of friends of shrubbery with no public bidding for contracts, no serious investigation of saudi arabia and the financing of the 9/11 attacks, severe debt burdens that threaten deflation and massive economic damage, lots of tax breaks for the wealthy, and far more terror around the world than there was before. blah blah blah.

Colorless green ideas sleep furiously.

I've been battling a bug for a week. Turns out to be compiler bug. Am pleased report have thrown down my foe and smote his ruin on the mountainside. Poor mountain.
