Afghan Opium Cultivation Reaches Record High-UN. The War on Drugs is so last millennium. Except wait a minute, there were TV ads showing that drug use by teens (but not diamond buying by adults) helps the terrorists, so maybe someone should see to putting the Taliban back into power to eradicate the opium threat again, and provide security so aid organizations can return. Blah blah etc.


I sometimes find it amusing that the evolution of religions serves as such a good isomorph to genetic evolution. But how good is it? Do biological species which diverge but remain in contact start competing with each other violently to see which will survive? It's possible I suppose that that is the case with Homo Floresiensis, Homo sapiens, Homo neanderthalensis. Halb halb cte.
