The problem with anhedonia and cleaning / simplifying

is I think "I'll get rid of everything I don't care about", but with anhedonia I don't care about anything. Presumably after fixing anhedonia I care again, but what will I care about then?

Also, I can't donate things right now, so it's either trash for nice items or clutter some poor area with donations which interferes with making non-poor areas.

There are conditions in which the Konmari "keep only what sparks joy" method is inadequate, and anhedonia is definitely one of them.

Does frequency of use work as a substitute criterion?

Yeah, that’s always challenging. I have a really hard time culling such things. One test I have used is boxing it up for a few months and seeing if I miss any of it while it’s out of sight. Then I weigh that against how much I appreciated having less, or different, clutter.
