As a point of interest: Almost all modern music utilizes MIDI. An intolerance to MIDI would equate to an intolerance to a very large portion of the music available today, as well as an inability to see most films. (You could, of course, see a fair bit of live music.)

I like live music.
And yes, I know... I'm a music-head myself. That doesn't mean I can't cavail and wave my skinny fists at the heaven when I hear bad synth.

This is true. :) It's just a personal pet-peeve of mine when people talk about "MIDI" as if it's a type of sound or synthesizer rather than a communications protocol (and later, a file format). That a lot of people happen to distribute terrible ripoffs of popular songs in the file format and that the General MIDI synth on most sound cards sucks rocks has nothing to do with MIDI itself. </rant>
