For the last few years, I have had no problems with telemarketers.

Mittle just got new phone, to replace Vonage which has too many dropouts.

Immediately, daily telemarketers. I assume the phone company blasted out her private information immediately to all corners of the globe. It's GODDAMNEDFUCKINGANNOYING. Particularly since they are usually machines that call and hang up because there's no human available on their end at the time. Isn't that illegal yet?

May pay to disconnect the number and get a new account where they assure privacy. Fuckwads.

I finally did it. I wrote mittle instead of mittel. And part of my brain knew it was wrong, but it couldn't be heard above the shouting.

I got cable phone and all telemarketers stopped. Unlisted. Lovely silence.

vonage = cable phone. problem: too much lovely silence. "Hello? can you hear me? Hello?" "Br...kth...gr..z.z.z.z.z.gr.b..or else we'll all die, ok?"

Hmm. Never had that problem. Still, unlisted works.

Add your number to the National Do Not Call Registry (donotcall.gov) and then after 30 days, you can spank them if they call you.

Er... that was https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx (https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx)

It's the 30 days that irritates the pescado out of me.

Yeah that is a LONG time to deal with ANNOYING phone calls, I agree.

I signed up for the do not call thing, and it helped. I also have waged a war of getting off their lists. I answer blocked numbers, and when it's a person I say "I REQUEST YOU REMOVE ME FROM YOUR LIST, YOU HAVE TO, IT'S THE LAW." and they say "okay (wimper)", and then they hang up. That seems to have helped. Next I will unlist my number.

I know they are looking for me.

the one web site says you have to say "add me to your do-not-call list", or somesuch, or its not legally binding. i doubt that matters in practice tho.

I wonder if the times I added "...OR, I'LL COME DOWN THERE, AND KILL EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU MOTHERFUCKERS" was legally binding?

Geez, I hope not.

Could be she just got a number that was recently disconnected (probably because of telemarketers). You may just want to go with a fresh number.

They ask for her by name though.
