Think I'm going to get these when finances settle down:

Verisyse™ Phakic Intraocular Lens for Extreme Myopia

Mostly for the name, but the improved vision would be great too.

Might need new prescription before then tho; left eye seems to be going to pot. Mebbe i be lucky and have some disease; need get that there dry eye test.

the dry eye test takes about five minutes and is so easy! you should go if it bothers you - there are drops you can do to help.

also, i just noticed that i totally misunderstood your poll. i was thinking like 'TWO THUMBS UP!' in my case, if it were between fingers and eyeballs, i'd probably go with fingers, actually.

well good, because i was contemplating chiding you about that. blind musicians - hot hot hot!

Pinkies? Each side for symmetry? maybe more if for _VISION_ ..but two for more perfect vision without all the crap must do to see!

[identity profile] dianthus.livejournal.com 2005-08-07 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Perfect is such a misnomer! I assume you mean 20/20?
Actual perfect eyesight would have to include xray, heat vision, night vision...probably some other things, too. If I could have all that I might be willing to give up 4 fingers, but I'd really have to think harder. Maybe only 2. ;-)

perfect! perfect!

This thing looks a bit scary, but so does lasik. Man... if I could get lasik, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

[identity profile] jodawi.livejournal.com 2005-08-07 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Why can't you? Surely you're not as blind as me.

[identity profile] msboop.livejournal.com 2005-08-07 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty blind... lol. Actually, it's not covered under my insurance.

Ow, ow, ow.

I'm glad you're considering this. You have my support in it. Just please, I beg of you, if you get it done, I want NO details of the surgery. After the first two lines of text on the link provided made me squeamish. Just ... yeah. Let's employ a "don't ask, don't tell" policy about the surgery, k?

The dry eye test doesn't take long, or so I've heard. Start with the simple stuff, and work your way up to ... that other thing. *shudders*

Why do I let you know about my weak spots? It only encourages you.

eye stuff

i've mostly gotten over dreaming of 20/20 vision, so i wouldn't give up too many fingers for that; only the pinkies.

if we're talking about vision at all, i'd be willing to give up a whole lot more fingers.

but why give up fingers at all? do they get cut off when i try to do my own surgery in order to save money?

yes, go and do the dry eye test. *encouragement*.
