Female vs male narcissississts

Do people "drop by" any more?

I kind of would like to have a home where people stopped by and sat about reading or playing with the cats or building odd structures on the table, but perhaps that doesn't happen in homes without children, and perhaps I'm stuck in the ideas of the past.

Got renter insurance today, first time ever. House probably burn down tomorrow. Inventory looks like pain; maybe just take lots of photos. Safe deposit box? Must be expensive because I can't find prices.

Cloud came in, settled over brain.

donuts for breakfast; cookies for lunch. dinner?

I shall not sleep until my home is completely unpacked and perfect in every way.

Is building new shelves/counter for the kitchen a distraction?

Woke up. Two crows were screaming in stereo. Raccoon was in backyard, sitting, seemingly trapped by cat fence and tired of looking for a way out. I approached. I approached some more. It reluctantly climbed up the tree a little way. I felt guilty. Don't know if it got out that way or is still hanging around in the branches. Kitties locked in. Kitties dislike being locked in, and let me know. Crows quieted. Raccoon haters? Back to bed.

One the one paw, I want my nummy treat. On the other paw, a giant monster is slowly lumbering toward me. Run run run! *bounces off of netting* Run run run the other way! *climbs up netting* *climbs back down* Agh! Run run run!

I eventually chased them both up the tree so they could take the canopy highway out. Hopefully they'll learn that our yard is a place of peril, before the cats teach them this.

Now Quarky sits in the geographic center of the yard, staring at me, meowing at the cruelty of his imprisonment. A bit of squirrel murder would probably cheer him up, unless he had a leg chewed off. I play him murder with a reed until the phone rings.

Cat fence seems to be working. Quark is sitting in front of the gate, staring. Neither has tried to climb over the gate yet, and I suspect they will succeed if they try, but perhaps it's putting off some sort of don't-try aura.

Finished staking down the netting. They could easily get out if they had human intelligence, but they mostly walk along looking at the stronger areas of defense and not testing the weaker areas.

Opened the window for them. Next: cat door or climbing thing so they can go out but burglars can't come in.

Birds and butterflies and things like to fly under the netting and get confused.

  • Many fence posts are now in the back yard.
  • All have little extender things on them to hang netting from.
  • None have netting. Select areas do not have hardware cloth. There is no kitty escalator from the verandah to the ground.
  • Ow says my little finger when I try to type.
  • Cough says my latest batch of bronchitis.
  • I bought a rose, which has high amounts of scent. I named it Jesebel.
  • It will live in the corner of the planter where I pulled out all the weeds.
  • I am dirty.
  • Many blackberries have been pulled up by as much root as would pull up. I use pliers. I expect they will haunt me forever here.
  • In my weakness, I did not continue working via electric lights until done.
  • I need to buy a gate anyway.
  • The one rubber ducky has been found. I enter the bath.
  • Spelling check in Semagic still sucks.

The cats have grown increasingly insane of late. Today the fence gets made.

I think I need a ladder to get high enough to pound the poles in.

39 poles, 39 stakes, much drilling, wire, little garden stake things that extend out to hold the netting, netting, plus some plan for gates.

The commercial cat fence is too expensive, and assumes you have an existing fence to attach things to. All existing fences here appear to be neighbor property. The inexpensive cat fence descriptions online are straight up, with no overhang, which is very unlikely to cause more than three blinks in my cats before they scrabble over it. Thus my self-designed design, which is many hundreds less than putting in a real fence and the commercial cat fence top, and which is totally new and unproved.

For now, no mushroom growing, as that's another few hundred dollars in books and materials and likely failure. I should probably start thinking of credit as unavailable money, rather than unused money.

However, the ultra-expensive tempurpedic bed is likely to be purchased soon, as mittel's latex mattress feeds on my pain. I ordered a free demo kit from them long ago; it never arrived. [Poll #319065]
